Lucknow: Preparations for the Maha Kumbh to be held from January 2025 on the Sangam coast in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh are going on in full swing. On the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, all the departments of the Kumbh Mela administration are contributing to give the Maha Kumbh a divine, grand, clean and green look. To give the Maha Kumbh the look of Green Kumbh, the Kumbh area will be kept polythene free, while green plaques are being developed outside the Kumbh area. With this effort, the resolution of environmental protection is also coming to the ground.
The resolution of Green Kumbh is coming to the ground
CM Yogi has given a clear instruction that Prayagraj should become a model of cleanliness in Maha Kumbh 2025. Collective efforts are being made to make Maha Kumbh an example of environmental protection along with cleanliness. To fulfill this resolution, the Forest Department, Municipal Corporation and Prayagraj Development Authority are running a mega plantation campaign. Under the campaign, 2 lakh 71 thousand saplings are being planted.
Divisional Forest Officer Prayagraj Arvind Kumar says that the Forest Department is going to plant 1.49 lakh saplings with a budget of 29 crores under this campaign. In this, 87 thousand saplings are being planted in 20 hectares in Saraswati Hi-Tech City. Here intensive plantation is being done in the vegetable block. In this, both small and big plants are being planted.
Green belts are also being developed in 18 roads
The Forest Department is also running a plantation campaign on both sides of the roads of the district. Intensive plantation is also being done in 18 roads coming towards the city. Under this, 50 thousand saplings will be planted. Plants like Kadamba, Neem, Amaltas are being planted on both sides outside the roads. Plants are also being planted by the Forest Department in some parts of the city.
The responsibility of developing green belts inside the city has been given to the Municipal Corporation of Prayagraj and Prayagraj Development Authority. The work of developing these green belts will be completed by the end of November.
